Cosplaying

People.. make sure you at least have the right size and looks before cosplaying. Its now just about the costume. Do us a favour and not kill our eyes anymore than they have already died from watching too much anime.

Memories

Remembered even in death, this is what true friends are.

John:

free your body and soul
unfold your powerful wings
climb up the highest mountains
kick your feet up in the air
you may now live forever
or return to this earth
unless you feel good where you are

Missed by your friends

Danger danger

Basketball is a RISKY SPORT! If you're the kind that breaks upon impact, stay away. Imagine rugby, except that the ball is round and you have to bounce it. Broken fingers, impaled palms, broken wrists, broken legs, broken necks.. you get the picture.
Basketball is not for everyone. Consult your doctor before use.

FAST and steady

The tortoise and the hare was never a story about perseverance or 'slow and steady wins the race' or any of that crap. How does being slow and steady make you win a race? Last time I checked, none of the Olympic medalists, or participants for that matter, ever qualified as 'slow'. Who the heck came up with that moral? No no no.. its more like 'stupidity loses the race'. Who in the right mind would take a nap in a race? Wheeee... I almost finished my exam paper! Take to take a quick nap......... mmmm nice nap.. huh? oops theres still part b uh oh no more time argh I'm scrood.

I'd much rather choing finish the paper, then laugh at everyone else while I sleep.

Lear me

"The ones closest to you are the ones that hurt you the most."

So overquoted, yet so cruel?

So overquoted, my lord, yet so true.

Freesurfing

Its really quite interesting.. how Singlish is an everyday thing to us.. just use it without having a second thought or three. Then we see the wiki article on Singlish, with crap like dental fricatives and voiceless stops, and we come to wonder how the heck we are able to use Singlish just like that without knowing of all these. Or that how wiki has managed to pull out that much bullshit from a random topic like Singlish. Whoever wrote that article would own King Lear upside down. But then again, imagine doing an IOC on a Singlish extract... "the sentence "Die liao lah" contains a topic-prominent structure, in which the topic 'die' is placed first. As such emphasis is placed on the word 'die', thus linking back to the poem's theme of death."

On another note, when you've listened to enough songs, you'll find that certain phrases repeat themselves. Well, I guess it was only a matter of time. Theres only that many permutations of notes.

See if you can find the similarities between these two songs:

or these two:

The Rook

Submitted for a contest.. wish me luck!

The Rook

Specializing in the defensive arts, the rook is a rank held only by the most trusted elite soldiers. Their task: to defend the king. Often by the king's side, they are the first to respond to any hostilities. Though primarily being a defensive unit, in offensive situations however, they take command of sieges laid on the enemy.

Not only do their full plate armour offer ample protection, their tower shields are able to withstand heavy enemy fire. All the better to charge directly into enemy lines with. Also believing in the idea of divine protection, their equipment are heavy adorned with the holy cross.

Though rarely required, when the situation calls for it, the rook will take up his sword and fight. Their sword, individually named by the wielder, was designed with defense in mind, rather than offense. However, enemies may wish to be cautious, for the rook's swordsmanship skills are second to none.

Even being top of their class, they do still have a weakness. Due to the incredible size and bulkiness of their armour and shield, they are only able to move horizontally and vertically. They do not do particularly well with diagonal movement.
