Orchard Rd

Ran into 2 'charity' people while walking along Orchard road today. One was okay. The other one was just a faggot. Malay? Maybe Indian.. he was dark enough. I walk along, minding my own business, when the faggot starts walking towards me in intersect path, saying some random crap, out of which I only managed to hear 'brudder'. Then I notice that stupid clear folder containing a stupid white piece of 'authenticated charity' paper he was holding. I made it clear I didn't want to have anything to do with him. He ends up following me a few steps, as with all of them. Alright.. fine. But then, just before he gives up, he says 'Fuck your mudder, brudder!'. Honestly, what the hell is wrong with him. And to think he is doing this for a 'charity'. Bet he signed on just to look for someone to beat the shit outta him, not counting the 'commision'. Its these kinda people that disgrace the minority races of Singapore. Should you ever hear people making racist statements the next time, you'll know why.

Soap and Water

Class chalet brought about some interesting thoughts I'd probably have never come across from staying at home. Indeed, even with all the technology and games at your disposal, nothing beats going out there and just having fun to the fullest. Free(mostly) from all that society demands from you, just enjoying life. Thats why Singapore has always ranked low in term of overall happiness. Anyway, chalet does reveal some stuff you never knew about your classmates.. or even yourself. =S

And on non-related stuff.. anyone else find this amusing?

so lonely..

Maybe its just me.. but once in a while, it kinda feels like theres one giant conspiracy against you or something. Like maybe.. everyone acts all nice when you're around, but in reality they can't stand you. After all, you can never truly know what the other party is thinking. Especially over the internet, considering theres the lack of face-to-face contact, you never know. Someone may be typing 'Hey, hows it going?', when in actual fact they're just saying 'Ugh, you again. What do you want this time?'.

"A penny for your thoughts?"
"Just my two cents."

Thoughts are underrated.

On a different note, seasons are passing with yet another commercialised Christmas and the annual poring migration to the bus-stop.

What makes us special

What more appropriate poem could have came out? Although I don't have photographic memory, here goes..

In the Rear View Mirror
===
Thinking back when you saw them last..
...
Nameless people on a postcard..
...
Exits and exits passed but not taken..
...
Makes thinking back when you saw them lasting..
===

As this portion of our lives come to a close, we say our goodbyes to one another. But as we do so, do not remember one's friends just by their farewells. Never forget the precious moments spent together, good or bad, since that is what defines a friendship. Those memories will forever remain in your heart.

Care Mystery

The paper was awfully, surprisingly easy. Kinda like '..omg, I think I know how to do this!'. Managed to spot the trick questions in the MCQ too. Paper 2 was harder than paper 1, but still nowhere close to the difficulty I imagined. 1 or 2 of my answers didn't seem to agree with the 'right answers' from the 'general majority', but I guess I'll believe in my own. =) Well, thats 1 more day down, 2 days to go! I can do this!

Colds come on rainy days with air cons set low.

Spending 5 hours in the library but only getting 1 hours worth of studying done may be because the other 4 hours were spent getting distracted.

Burger Bar

Didn't manage to sleep at all the last night/morning. That would be 5ish hours of lying in bed, most of the time aware that I'm not able to get myself to fall asleep. I think I've mostly traced the problem, that being thinking too much while I'm lying in bed. Well, not that I can help it.. my mind doesn't like being idle for some reason. And everytime I tell myself to shut up, I eventually manage to wander onto some other topic anyway. The mind is a hard thing to train, especially during sleep hours. =(

It seems the less sleepy I look in the morning, the more tired I am in reality. The opposite usually holds true as well. Although if I'm clearly asleep on the table or something, it shouldn't be assumed that my energy bar is anywhere near hyper level.

So anyway, I 'wake up', fully expecting myself to flunk the two papers horribly. Go to school.. go to SAC.. drink can of coffee #1. Sit for B&M paper. Go to library. Last minute maths revision and fun chats. Go to SAC.. drink can of coffee #2. Talk with B&M HL peeps, including Jeanette, who had much to say about cosplay.. god knows why ;). Go back to library for more revision and Matthew antics. Go back to SAC with Berber. Drink can of coffee #3 while Jin struggles with maths question. Go back to library to get bag. Sit for maths paper. Bball fun.

Ended up doing much better than I expected myself to. Either the cans of coffee worked awfully well, or my quick random prayer for alertness throughout the test was answered. Although I still could have done better, I'm satisfied with my performance in the test.

Organicks

Yeahh! First paper is overrrrrr!

The paper was overall okay, I guess. A few questions were kinda.. strange. Its like you read the question.. [huh??], then blank out a bit. Then I just told myself to start writing, and that the points will come as I write. In the end the answers were a bit more random than I expected, but it was okay. Particularly happy with my last answer, where all the points just popped into my head. So its like scribble scribble wheeeeeee SCRIBBLE SCRIBBLE wahahaa! Passive answer derivation of sorts, where the answer comes without needing you to actively think about it. Hope it activates in the next few papers as well. =)

I'll try to keep neutral on my opinion on the paper.. since by experience, being optimistic has always let me down (Maths.. BM..), while being pessimistic won't help when I'm doing the other papers. As long as I don't get the same sort of marker as the prelims (band 1 answer got marked as band 3.. D=), I guess it should be okay.

I remember, some time ago.. we were wondering what use would standing broad jump ever have in real life situations. Now I know. Parkour.

Based on the latest developments in neuro-technology, Emotiv has developed a new personal interface for human computer interaction.

The Emotiv EPOC uses a set of sensors to tune into electric signals naturally produced by the brain to detect player thoughts, feelings and expression and connects wirelessly to most PCs.

The Emotiv neuroheadset now makes it possible for games to be controlled and influenced by the player's mind.

F&N Groovy

To hear something through the grapevine is to learn of something informally and unofficially by means of gossip and rumor.

...rumors flourish in an organization because of three elements...

  1. It is not controlled by formal management.
  2. Most employees perceive it to be more believable and reliable than formal communication issued by top management.
  3. It is largely used for the self-interests of the people within the organization.
Evidence:
- The sheer number of year 6s turning up for the Chinese karaoke teachers' concert.
- I start the thing about the 'male librarian'. A year later, it somehow manages to return back to me.
- Gabriel Fee(Phee? Fii?)
